This is not a definitive way of identifying “the best player”, it is a guide, based upon simple metrics and is meant as a fun tool for enjoyable competition.
We have designed a mini tournament where every player plays with and against every player, while earning individual “Fantasy Football Style Points” for their performances in each match. These are compiled to give everyone a final score analysis over the whole tournament, to identify a ranking of individual performance.
The tournament is arranged for 4v4 or 3v3, teams are small to ensure maximum involvement during the games. For this reason, we can set up systems for groups of 6, 8, 12, 16, 18 or 24 players, for example:
3v3 = 6 players
4v4 = 8 players
3v3 x 2 divisions = 12 players
4v4 x 2 divisions = 16 players
3v3 x 3 divisions = 18 players
4v4 x 3 divisions = 24 players
The example we have above is a 4v4 tournament for 8 players.
For each game played we record the result, record who scored and who assisted. Players receive points like so:
Match Played = 2 points, Win = 2 points, Draw = 1 point, Goal Scored = 1 point, Assist = 0.5 points, Clean sheet (no goals conceded) = 2 points
All that needs to be done, is to record the games scores, the scorers and who assisted the goal (the player to pass to the scorer), the system will work out all the scores for you.
On each tab on the sheet, there is “R1, R2, R3 … etc” this is each round and after you have entered your player names in, you will be able to see by clicking on each tab, who will play with who for each round. Games should be short, keeping them intense and allowing all the changes, 5 mins should be fine.
After each round you can click on the corresponding bar below the sheet and input the score for each team, the scorers, who assisted and submit the form for that round.
The totals for that round and the running totals on the first tab will be automatically updated.
